St.Marys Central School, founded in 1980, is co-educational private institution which follows the CBSE syllabus. It is a Christian school owned and administered by The Malankara Catholic Archdiocese of Thiruvalla.The Motto of the school’s ‘AMOR ET SAPIENTA” “Love and Wisdom”. The school caters to the educational aspirations of pupils from KG to Class XII. The School got affiliation for secondary school and senior secondary school in 1995 and 2000 respectively.
- The school stands for academic excellence, development of personality, formation of character, and service of mankind as modeled in Jesus Christ. It cherishes the ideal of developing the total personality of every child who enters its portals. Therefore, equal emphasis is given to the mental, spiritual, and physical growth of the child. It is the earnest desire of the school to form future citizens who would create a family atmosphere in society without any discrimination of caste and creed.
- Stepping on the pedals of faith and hope, riding through the smooth and rough roads, St. Mary’s Central School, opened its door towards the journey of excellence with a humble setup from the Catholic Center Ittiyappara, Ranny, on 24th March 1980 with only 53 students.
- The School inherits a glorious legacy. It was formally inaugurated by His Excellency Issac Mar Yohanon. Rev. Fr. Thomas Puthiyaveetil the motivating spirit behind the venture acted as the Manager and Rev. Sr.Little Therez was the first Principal.
- The name of Father Thomas Puthiyaveettil should be recorded in golden letters in the annals of St. Mary’s school. He has been the life–blood of the school from its very inception till he took up another assignment in 1988. What the school is now, is the result of his toil and willpower. The yeoman services rendered for this school by Fr. Thomas Puthiyaveettil should always be remembered with gratitude.
- The year 1994 marked the second birth of the school with the introduction of the C.B.S.E syllabus. The N.O.C for starting a Central School was obtained from the state govt. and the approval of Middle-Class Syllabus, the first step in the erection of a CBSE School, was granted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi on 1 April 1995. This was a great turning point in the history of the school. The school got affiliated with the CBSE with the number 9426 on 1St April 1997 and later with (930125).
- Mary’s Central School is a Co-educational Pvt. Institution affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows NCERT Syllabus, owned and administered by the Malankara Catholic Arch Diocese of Thiruvalla.
- The first batch of students was presented for the Board Examination in March 1998. On 7th February, 2000 inspection of the school by the C.B.S.E inspection committee headed by Sri. N. Nagaraju, Regional Officer of the Chennai of the Board, led the upgrade of the school to a Senior Secondary School.
- This institution of excellence, innovation, and creativity is committed to imparting holistic education to its young minds, offering a rich array of opportunities, all throughout the year by providing exposure to sports, cultural and co-curricular activities.
- This humble luminous little candle has so gallantly burnt itself, that its radiance has helped to dispel the darkness of ignorance from the lives of St. Maryans of Ranny, “The Queen of Eastern Hill Lands”, ensuring a cozy, warm, and friendly environment to all who seek enlightenment with it.
- Over the decades of tireless striving towards perfection, Holy Mary, the mother of God has immensely showered her grace and facilitated the growth of this ‘Temple of Learning’, from strength to strength since its inception.
- Today the school has grown into a large institution having 2000 students, 70 teaching staff, and 40 non-teaching staff members. The school owns 17 vehicles for the Conveyance of students. We thank God for this abundant blessing and care showered upon us over the past 43 years.
